Ray Davis is the Chairman of Mabuhay Capital. He is a senior investment banker with international M&A and Restructuring expertise and a distinguished track record in completing complex transactions, particularly in situations involving troubled companies. He is experienced in many industries including banking, utilities, energy, manufacturing, automotive, telecommunications, airline, cement, pulp and paper, retail, infrastructure and steel.
Ray has extensive experience in Asia, Europe, Canada, US, Latin America and Middle East. He was the most active investment banker advising clients in Restructuring in Mexico following the Peso Crisis and in Indonesia following the Asian Crisis.
He spent 22 years in investment banking, most recently as a Managing Director at Credit Suisse First Boston’s M&A and Distressed Finance Groups. His public sector experience includes work for the US Department of Energy during the 1977-1981 Energy Crisis, as an Engineer in Ecuador with the Instituto National de Electrificacion installing power plants, and as a volunteer with the US Peace Corp. Ray’s academic experience includes faculty appointments in the School of Business Administration at Emory University and Temple University.
Ray holds a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineer from the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from Temple University and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Indiana University.
