John Echauz is a Partner at Mabuhay Capital. Prior to joining Mabuhay Capital, John was a Vice President for Emerging Markets Investment Banking and Capital Markets for Bear, Stearns & Co. and covered the Southeast Asian region.

A corporate finance specialist, John has been involved in M&A and fund-raising activities for numerous industries including media (free-to-air TV, cable TV, specialty programming, internet), power (generation-heavy fuel oils/geothermal/wind, transmission, distribution), petroleum refining and petrochemicals, telecommunications (local exchange carriers/backbones/cellular), toll roads, medical devices, food & commodities (pineapple plantations, fast-moving consumer goods, sugar plantations, and refineries), hotel/hospitality, property/mortgage-backed securitization, government pension funds, and national governments.

John has an MBA from Columbia University – New York (1999 with Honors) and a B.S. in Industrial Management Engineering from De La Salle University – Manila (1995).
